The first place for Tibetan refugee camp in South India, Bylakuppe is a tiny little town, populated by Tibetans and full of temples and monks. In fact, you can find the temples that belong to four branches of Tibetan buddhism, so basically Tibetan buddhism all in one place for someone who wants to learn about it or worship. The rules and KPJAYI are quite strict. You need to sign up within 2-3 month before coming, but not earlier or sooner than a month, you need to arrive and register at a certain time before beginning practice, and you are not supposed to practice with any other teacher but your teacher (Saraswati or Sharath), otherwise the school has a right to kick you out. I have to say I did not know much about the school or teachers when I came, except for the fact that Pattabhi Jois was the one who started making yoga popular all over the world, which, I thought, was pretty cool and I liked the method, that is why I came. It hasn’t even been a year since I started practicing, and I do skip practice from time to time, but I can tell you why I wrote this – because ever since I had a crush on ashtanga yoga, I have been in love with it, and when you really love something, you want others to feel it too. A day of my life. January 20, 2015

How I volunteered in Thailand, was chilling in the hot weather, and lived near a buddhist temple.

In Russian Livejournal there is a community called ‘A Day of my life’, where anyone can write about a day of their lives and share photos. Looking at it made me appreciate diversity and try to live every day of my life to the fullest.
